Keeping a handy supply of scrapbooking materials in stock need to constantly be an important component of just about every scrapbooker's to-do list. Skilled scrapbookers know that a fantastic thought or inspiration could hit them at any given moment, so it would immensely frustrating to go into your workshop and locate yourself low on papers or embellishments. Having said that, it would be impractical to stock up on all the scrapbooking supplies you could locate at your nearest crafts or hobby shop, so I have prepared a list for you to know what are probably the most critical supplies that you always need to have inside your workshop.
Albums - This will be the foundation of all your pages, so it's a no-brainer to include this as one of the most significant things to generally have on hand. You don't need to buy dozens of them; just consider what you commonly scrap about or what your favorite themes are, then maintain several albums on hand (two or 3 would be just right) to accommodate those. If feasible, also try to have a minimum of 1 album in a 8 1/2" x 11" size and an additional 1 in a smaller 8" x 8" size. Scrapbooks are an wonderful hobby which requirements the correct tools or motivation like the Pine Cone Press you see on this page.

how can i make fondant grass?
i'm making a "golf cake" for my dad for father's day but i'm worried about some of the details
i saw one idea to use a garlic press to make the grass...but that will only work for the longer grass... the green will be fine smooth, and there will be long grass along the outer edges (garlic press) but i can't think of a good way to get a good texture for the majority of the cake...
i also haven't seen many good ideas for trees... i'll be doing a few with royal icing on ice cream cones as pine trees, but i'm looking for something to mix it up a little...
i do not want to make the grass with icing so the star tip won't work
i want to use fondant
You can use a star tip to make grass. Just push it into the fondant, twist and pull up a little bit. Practice before you do it on the cake
For trees, cover a wooden skewer partway with fondant and make a ball at the top. Make some palm leaves...just a leaf with a lot of little cuts in the sides, if you have a wheel cutter it's good for that. Then let the palm leaves dry on some crumpled foil to give them shape, and glue them to the top of the fondant balls. Last year I made a huge tree on a Father's day cake http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3005/2666354587_37d6cd63dd.jpg and my tree was made from wooden skewers and a piece of foamboard. I wrapped the skewers with floral tape and then covered them with fondant and used a knife to make the grooves in the tree bark. I used a daisy cutter to make leaves.
You could make big trees by using a pretzel rod and some rice krispie treats (either homemade or buy a package of the snack ones and reshape them) Make the rice krispie treats into balls on top of the pretzel rods and then cover them with fondant leaves...the daisy cutter would be good for that if you've got one.
EDIT: If you read what I said about the star tip, you would see that I didn't say to use it for icing. Use the little teeth on the end of it to make your fondant look like grass...poke the teeth into the fondant, twist a little bit and then pull up. You're actually tearing the fondant a little bit when you do it and it gives it a texture that looks like grass. It works better on a cake board than on a cake but it can be done if you're careful not to push down too hard so you don't go through the fondant.
Page Protectors - It wouldn't be effectively known as a scrapbook if it didn't have page protectors on it. These items are what keeps your pictures and layouts protected and secure for years to come, so that your youngsters as well as your grandchildren may well appreciate your masterpiece in all its glory. You will discover basically two kinds of page protectors offered - clear and non-glare, so I suggest keeping at least 1 of each. Paper - Regardless of whether for backgrounds, layers, or anything else, you are going to need to have paper for those who need to create a scrapbook. Patterned or textured paper alone could be utilised in a lot of creative methods to both serve as backgrounds and embellishments at the very same time, so make sure you've got a lot on board.
Possibly this is why a lot of individuals flock to scrapbooking as a hobby. You will find no bounds to your creativity when custom producing scrapbook supplies. Should you do not feel the supplies you've got on hand are completely perfect, there's no want for you to settle. Walking into a craft store may discourage you if they don't have specifically what you would like, but the world wide web will blow you away with much more possibilities than you could have ever imagined. Companies like "My Minds End" are continually making new designs for all occasions. Don't be afraid to shop around and alter them to meet your requirements.
